SPEAKER - TUESDAY - OCT. 13, 2020 - An Ohio boy, born and raised, Urban Meyer began his coaching career following his playing days at the University of Cincinnati.
After making his start with a high school team in Cincinnati, Meyer joined the Ohio State coaching staff as a positional coach. After a 17-6 record in his 2 years at BGSU, Meyer was given the Utah head coaching job where he quickly turned the program around, taking them to 10-2 and 12-0 seasons with wins in the Liberty Bowl and Fiesta Bowl respectively.
Meyer was then offered the head coach job at the University of Florida where he went on to spend his next 6 seasons. He compiled a total record of 65-15, leading the Gators to a bowl game all six years and winning two BCS National Championships (2006, 2008). Following the 2010 season, Meyer retired from coaching for a short stint before being offered and accepting his dream job as the head coach of Ohio State University.
In seven seasons with the Buckeyes, he went 83-9, won three Big Ten titles and finished every season inside the top 10. Meyer led OSU to the first College Football Playoff National Championship in 2014, becoming only the third coach to win a title at multiple schools
