SENATOR SCOTT BROWN

Former U.S. Senator Scott Brown (MA) has a long history of public service including many years in the Massachusetts Legislature as a State Representative and member of the State Senate before being elected to Ted Kennedy’s seat as the first Massachusetts Republican elected to the U.S Senate in over 40 years.  During his time in the Senate, Brown was a ranking member on the Armed Services Committee, as well as the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs, and was a member of the Veteran’s Committee and the Committee on Small Business.

Senator Brown was known as one of the most bipartisan members in the Senate and was responsible for many pieces of important legislation including: the Stock Act (which banned insider trading for members of Congress), the Hire A Hero Act (providing tax benefits for employers that hire returning veterans), the Crowdfunding Bill (provides online financing for new businesses), the Arlington Cemetery Bill, the 3% Withholding Bill (terminates the stealth tax for businesses doing work with the government),  the Never Contract with the Enemy Act as well as many other major pieces of legislation.

In addition to his legislative experience, Brown is also a retired Army Colonel having most recently served as the Deputy of the Chief Counsel in the National Guard Bureau at the Pentagon.

Senator Brown was a popular contributor for FOX News and was counsel to the prestigious law firm Nixon Peabody, LLP, where he worked on many areas of the law to include governmental relations.
