| Description | The Greater Charlotte Hospitality & Tourism Alliance (HTA) is a full time association representing more than 800 businesses in the greater Charlotte area. The organization was established in October 1994 by the leaders of different segments of the hospitality industry. This combined organization was created to respond to the need for a full time and privately funded organization which was required to represent this growing industry with a commitment to proactively influence decisions, eliminating industry related challenges and maximizing opportunities for our remarkable industry. The industry currently generates nearly $3 billion in annual revenues and employs more than 60, 000 people in Mecklenburg County. As a membership organization, our main objective is to accommodate various needs of our diverse membership. With that in mind, our primary focus is centered on efforts which will increase the bottom lines of our members’ businesses. Areas of our focus include: •Operating as a financially solid organization •Providing full time and pro-active representation for the Hospitality Industry •Continuously building and enhancing relationships with elected and civic leaders to increase awareness of industry’s remarkable impacts and to communicate its challenges and opportunities. •Continuously increase industry’s political involvement, clout, and influence to actively pursue legislative solutions for major industry related, community wide and statewide issues. •Proactive involvement in and initiating business development efforts and projects which are required to increase hospitality and tourism revenues in the Charlotte area. •Actively pursue increase and proactive marketing of all Charlotte area assets to increase business for HTA members. •Proactively focus on efforts to increase member business opportunities and internal promotions. •Continuously focus on enhancing membership value to provide members with their desired return on their investment in the organization. •Actively focus on efforts to increase community and public relations efforts. |
