Hood Hargett Breakfast Club

On Thursday, August 11th, members and guest of the Hood Hargett BreakfastClub came together for a Casino Night fund raiser at the Hampton Inn & Suites at Phillips Place to raise money for the organizations Liz Murray Scholarship Fund.

Funds were raised through ticket sales, a live auction hosted by former Radio Host H.A. Thompson and a silent auction.

Each month during the school year (September through May), HHBC awards a $1,000 scholarship to the Liz Murray Scholarship Fund winner at its monthly Breakfast meeting, held at Carmel Country Club. That month’s winner is invited to be a part of this Breakfast, where they are introduced and recognized from the podium before being invited to sit with the guest speaker at the head table. The student’s parents, high school principal and coach are also invited and encouraged to attend.

One of the nine Fund winners is further recognized each year as the Liz Murray Scholarship Fund Student Athlete of the Year, winning an additional $ 5,000 scholarship.
